Green Hydrogen India Market Update Q2 2024 (Apr-Jun)

Tenders:?In Q1 2024, the green hydrogen market saw the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) issue a tender to develop a manufacturing capacity of 1,500 MW for electrolysers under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) scheme (Tranche-II).
Investments:
- World Bank Approves $1.5 Billion to Support India’s Low Carbon Transition.
Green Hydrogen Projects Commissioned in India:
- Airox Nigen Equipments commissioned its indigenously built alkaline electrolyser and fuel cell for SJVN’s multi-purpose green hydrogen pilot project in Jhakri, Himachal Pradesh.
- GAIL (India ) Ltd commissioned its first green hydrogen plant at Vijaipur, Madhya Pradesh, marking its entry into alternate energy.
- Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd . commissioned India’s first Solid Oxide Electrolyser (SOE) at its HP Green R&D Centre in Bengaluru for generating Green Hydrogen (GH2).
Policy and regulations: In this quarter three central-level Policies/notifications/orders were issued.
